Blackstone Models is pleased to announce the anticipated summer 2009 arrival of these narrow gauge classics. Due to popular demand, the D&RGW “round roof” Long Caboose will be available in HOn3 in all five D&RGW road numbers plus unlettered.

In addition to coal, these cars often handled limestone, precious minerals, pipe, maintenance equipment, and an array of other commodities as the need arose. Most of these cars were rebuilt in the early 1920's and ended up with five sideboards to increase their capacity.

In 1964, D&RGW crews in Durango, Colorado refitted freight boxcars 3468 and 3219 to handle baggage, hiking gear, and supplies for a popular guest ranch on the newly-formed tourist line between Durango and Silverton.

The first run is sold out but a second run is available– car #3219.

Three 3000 series boxcars were converted to work service. Boxcars 3057, 3131, and 3085 were converted to work cars after previously being used in revenue service. An "0" was used at the front to distinguish the reassignment.

With its slightly weathered deck and various paint shades and road numbers, this flat car will also fit in well with your favorite work train.

These tank cars represent the narrow frame and frameless UTLX cars that traversed the Denver and Rio Grande Western and Rio Grande Southern Railroad’s track throughout Colorado from the 1920s and into the 1960s.
